Welcome!
Since joining MUS as the Chief Academic Officer in July of 2010, I have come to greatly
appreciate the quality of education that we provide. This amazing community of educators,
parents, and students works together to provide a world-class experience that prepares our
students for the future
I join this team with a variety of educational experiences. Since 2002, I have worked at six
elementary schools including public, charter and magnet schools serving a wide spectrum of
demographically diverse populations. I have been a classroom teacher for five years, a
mathematics and data specialist and a principal throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County.
I earned my Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in 2008 and a doctoral degree (Ed.D.) at UCLA in educational leadership in 2012, where I was honored with the Outstanding Dissertation Award for my research on teacher evaluation and a growth-centered model of development. I also teach a series on leadership in the Ed.D program at UCLA in the evening. As an educational leader, I believe in bringing people together under a common vision and shared beliefs, values, and core principles. I am committed to always acting with integrity and treating every individual with respect. Every decision I make as the Chief Academic Officer must be weighed by asking, “How does this affect our students?” I understand the value of relationships, culture, and communication in making any enterprise function well.
I hope to serve our community well in the coming years! I maintain an open-door policy, so please stop in any time to discuss a concern, share your thoughts, or just say hi. I can also be reached by email at nbruski@montecitou.org or by phone at (805) 969-3249.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nick Bruski
